01 — For small things

A paper wallet is a piggy bank, not a safe.

These addresses are perfect to get started, to gift or to receive small amounts. To store real money you need a hardware wallet.

Use it for

  • Tips and donations
  • Gifting your first sats
  • A piggy bank for the kids

  • Giveaways and events

Never for

  • Your savings
  • Salaries or large payments
  • Inheritance or long-term funds
  • Money you cannot afford to lose
01

Paper is fragile

It gets wet, fades, gets lost or thrown away by mistake. If it disappears, so do the funds.

02

Whoever sees it, takes it

Anyone who photographs or reads the seed phrase can spend the whole balance in seconds.

03

Your device matters

A computer with malware or a malicious extension could spy on the phrase while it is generated. That is why offline is better.

02 — Generator

Generate your address

Move your mouse or finger over the coin to add your own randomness. The system generator is already secure; your movement only adds to it.

01

Receive

Share the bc1q address or show the QR code on the public side. You can receive as many times as you like.

03

Spend

Import the seed phrase into a BIP84-compatible wallet (BlueWallet, Sparrow, Electrum, Nunchuk…) and send the full balance.

04

Retire

Once you have spent from the phrase, consider the paper wallet used and destroy it.

06 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe?

The address is created on your device with the browser’s cryptographic generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and audited libraries. Nothing is sent over the internet. Still, it is a solution for small amounts: safety also depends on your computer, your printer and where you keep the paper.

What is a seed phrase?

A list of 12 or 24 words (BIP39 standard) that holds the key to your address. With it you can recover the funds in any compatible wallet. Whoever holds it controls the money.

12 or 24 words?

12 words (128 bits) are already impossible to guess with current technology and easier to copy. 24 words (256 bits) give you an extra margin.

Why bc1q addresses?

They are native SegWit (BIP84): today’s standard format, with lower fees than old addresses starting with 1 or 3, and supported by virtually every wallet and exchange.

Do you store my keys?

No. There is no server, database, cookies or analytics. The page is not even allowed to connect to the internet (CSP security policy). When you close it, everything is gone.

What is m/84'/0'/0'/0/0?

It is the derivation path: it tells the wallet which address to take from your phrase. It is the first standard BIP84 receiving address, the one any wallet shows when importing the phrase.

What if I lose the paper?

If you lose both the seed phrase and the private key, the bitcoin at that address are lost forever. Nobody, including us, can recover them.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, the site works on mobile. But the safest option is a computer disconnected from the internet using the offline version.

Is it an alternative to bitaddress.org?

Yes. It does the same as classic paper wallet generators, but with today’s standard: SegWit bc1q addresses (lower fees), a BIP39 seed phrase any modern wallet understands, a foldable PDF and a single-file offline version.

Can I gift bitcoin with a paper wallet?

Yes, it is one of its best uses. Generate the address, send a small amount, print the PDF, fold it and give it away. The recipient can import the phrase into their wallet and spend the funds.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The site is free, with no sign-up, ads or fees. You only pay the normal Bitcoin network fee when you send or spend funds.
